Our First Feature Wedding Story: Summer & Cedric

What is something you would like to say to your future husband or wife?

"Looking forward to enjoying the experience of living the rest of my life with you."~ Cedric
"Thank you for all of the love that you've shown me and making me a better person." ~Summer

                 Their Wedding...

On December 8th, 2011, Summer & Cedric made a commitment to love, honor, and cherish one another as husband and wife. They were wed at Trinity Bible Fellowship in the evening. The reception was adorned with a simple and elegant design accented with black, ivory, pearls, and diamonds. Guests got to share in the couples joy and share in their unique & classy cupcake cake made at Delicious Cakes. I had the pleasure of interviewing the lovely couple and they truly were inspiring, joyful, and warm.

Their Journey.....

The couple met at Pappadeaux in Addison  while out with some friends and have been together ever since. Summer is currently a PHD student at UNT and Cedric has started a non-profit organization called S.O.U.L Movement www.soulmovementinc.com which is his ministry. "The S.O.U.L. (Strategic Outreach and Urban Leadership) Movement Inc. represents an educational and charitable non-profit organization to reach our youth and young adults by providing education, volunteer services and outreach in order to assist with their formulation of educated opinions and beliefs as well as provide helpful and useful assistance in their struggle against harmful social issues with negative consequences."

Their Interests...

Cedric & Summer teamed up and have been working in the S.O.U.L. Movenemt ministry together and I am encouraged by their servant hearts. Summer enjoys traveling and tulips will bring a smile to her face. Cedric has an eye for fashion and enjoys shopping...so finding his tux for the wedding must have been a great experience for him.

          Their Cake...

Summer & Cedric have been customers for while. "We use Delicious Cakes for everything, you name it," Summer told me. When they came for their cake tasting our wedding consultant, Allie, worked with them to create and build the perfect cake...cupcake cake that is.They wanted something unique and a cake that would fit the theme of their wedding. They served finger-foods and appetizers so having a cupcake cake where guests could have their own treat matched exquisitely. They chose six flavors, Fresh Strawberry & Princess being their favorites. They had a small two-tiered cake lined with diamond ribbon, cupcakes in silver wrappers trickling down, and fresh flowers on top. Everyone loves cupcakes, so this idea is definitely a sweet trend for weddings!

Their Joys....

When asked what they were most excited about for the day of their wedding they both were on the same page. Cedric wanted to see Summer come down the aisle and Summer was anticipating seeing Cedric as she walked down the aisle. They were also looking forward to the cake, taking communion together, and "to honor Christ and set and example of marriage in the eyes of God." They were joyful and excited to share their faith and it is the foundation of their marriage.

Their Honeymoon...

They spent their honeymoon in Las Vegas at the Cosmopolitan and planned the trip with excitement of attending the Kanya West and Jay Z Concert. This is their first trip to the city full of lights. They were excited to go to the shows & relax.   www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com

The couple was a pleasure to meet and we were honored to do their wedding cake design! Have sweet memories Summer & Cedric and congratulations on uniting in marriage. We are looking forward to making your first year anniversary cake!
